Batey Zipline Adventure takes place in remotes areas of the central limestone Tropical Forest of Puerto Rico where natural settings are abundant and relatively undisturbed. Our Ecotours and daily practices promote a minimal impact on the environment and encourage the involvement with adjacent communities. Only locals are our guides and the ones who have work on the development of our course. A very important part of our tours is the interpretation of cultural, historical and ecological facts for the benefit of all our visitors, including social projects, school and universities students (and teachers).

That’s the M.E.T.A. (GOAL) of Batey Zipline Adventure:

-Minimal impact on the environment,
-Educational experience on natural and cultural heritage,
-Tourism that doesn’t disturb the natural settings,
-Active involvement with local communities.

BZA is also a proud supporter of many community groups and provides a wide variety of local employment opportunities.

Deaf Nation in Batey Zipline Adventure...

Hi everyone, we want to share the visit of Joel Barish and his crew on a visit to PR, a month ago. We live in the tropical forest of Puerto Rico ( 5 minutes away from the Caguana Indigenous Ceremonial Park ) and we call our land "Batey del Cemí". In this land and facilities is were our family business " Batey Zipline Adventure" takes place; promoting Ecotourism and Nature Adventures as a sustainable way of living. Is in these same facilities (30 acres) where 8 years ago we started the tours with the local company Acampa Nature Adventures offering the "Organic Tanamá Adventure", till these days. Since 2001 we have been working in a Sustainable and Holistic way of living; going from Organic gardening, self sufficient home construction, solar power, spring water, home made composting toilets and more. We have been preparing the land for the present and for the future, learning how to use our natural resources to the maximum and at the same time protecting them. By 2006 we started to receive local visitors on tours by our own and 2 years later we started advertising our place as Batey Zipline Adventure. So if you are looking for a culture and educative tour combined with nature adventure like zipline or canopy , caving and rappelling this is the place and the space... Come and enjoy the beauties of Puerto Rico at Utuado with Batey Zipline Adventure!

Sharing expirience...

“Thrilling eco-adventure”Batey Zipline Adventureheavenlyjane AtlantaJan 6, 2009 1/1 found this review helpfulThis was one of the best days of our 15-day road trip around Puerto Rico. Batey Zipline Adventure included a succession of thrills, starting with the hair-raising bouncing truck ride away from civilization into the heart of the remote NW karst region. We ended up many miles away from civilization at the edge of the wild Rio Tanamá. Leaving the truck, we trekked one-by-one over a well-built but swaying pedestrian suspension bridge across the wild Rio Tanamá. On the other side, we climbed to Jorge’s off-the-grid organic farm, El Batey del Cemi, where we munched apple-flavored bananas and haltered up for the next batch of adventures. Six zip lines across canyons, the river, from tree to tree. In between, we rappelled down a 70-ft cliff, a new for experience for us.
Finally we hopped into a boat and relaxed while our guides paddled us up the lively Rio Tanamá. Here the landscape is surreal with immense striated boulders planted in the middle of the riverbed, remains of an ancient cave ceiling that had collapsed. Soon the river disappeared underground into a cave. As we floated through it, we could see squirming fuzzy bats on the high ceiling. us. At the other side, we felt like we were in a primordial place. After swimming for a while and drinking from a nearby spring, we floated back through the cave to where we started. Our 4-hour adventure ended with another heart-stopping truck ride back to our car.
The facility at Batey is used by all the other ecoadventure companies, such as Acampo, Ecoquest and Adventuras but we saved $160 ($40 apiece) because we didn't have the organic lunch and drove ourselves to the end of the pavement rather than being met in San Juan. We were staying nearby in Utuado so this was preferable. Our 4-hour adventure cost us $109 apiece. We felt like we were given an excellent value. It happened to be our teenage daughter’s birthday and she declared it her best birthday yet.
Batey is just down the road from the Caguana's Ceremonial Indigenous Park so we included a stop there in our day. It was a nice addition because Jorge spoke a lot about the local Taino’s in the tour.
Recommend without reservation! We felt we had been taken to a truly magical place. Gracias Jorge!
